Make the Switch

Join a company that believes better is possible.

At J&I Duct Fab, we believe your job should support your life—not consume it.

We believe:

  • You were created for a purpose

  • Your family comes first

  • Relationships matter

  • Your time is valuable

  • Work should be meaningful and organized

If you're experienced in fabrication and ready for a place where that's actually true, keep reading.

Build Something Worth Building

We fabricate commercial HVAC duct and sheet metal for projects across the eastern U.S., including spiral pipe, rectangular duct, fittings, and custom work.

Our shop is in Covington, Ohio.

We're looking for someone who already knows this business and wants a place to do it right.

We Believe in How We Run This Place

We're a faith-driven, family-owned company. That means:

  • We honor God in how we work, not just how we talk.

  • We invest in the people on our team.

  • We give back to our community.

  • We do things right, and we do them profitably.

There's also room to grow here for the right person.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position. You'll work alongside our current estimating team, taking projects from initial takeoff all the way through production handoff.

Day to day, that means:

  • Reading mechanical drawings and performing accurate takeoffs.

  • Building quotes for commercial HVAC duct and sheet metal projects.

  • Managing projects through production and delivery.

  • Using estimating software to put together competitive, accurate bids.

  • Communicating with contractors and mechanical subs.

  • Coordinating between the customer and the shop floor.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

This role is ideal for someone who is:

  • Experienced in commercial HVAC duct estimating.

  • Familiar with how sheet metal is actually fabricated (you understand what you're quoting).

  • Proficient in estimating software.

  • Can read mechanical drawings and do a clean material takeoff.

  • Organized, dependable, follows through on open items.

  • Can carry multiple projects without losing track.

  • Someone who cares about getting the number right.

Red Flags (This Role Probably Isn’t For You If…)

  • You've never estimated or managed HVAC duct projects.

  • You've only done residential work.

  • You need someone else to check your math.

  • You struggle with deadlines or lose track of open items.

  • You're looking for something temporary.

We're a small team. The work you quote is the work the shop builds. That accuracy matters.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay (based on experience)

  • Health insurance available

  • Paid vacation and paid holidays

  • Positive, team‑focused work environment
